    A little-known fact

The 2005 6XT is actually one of the last evolutions of the original Cherokee Six design that began in 1965. By the time Piper built the 6XT, the basic airframe had nearly 40 years of refinement behind it, but the cabin dimensions and utility were still unmistakably those of the Cherokee Six. Many owners consider the 6XT to be the "ultimate fixed-gear Cherokee Six" because it combined:

    • the 300 hp turbocharged engine,
    • factory air conditioning,
    • the Avidyne Entegra glass cockpit,
    • and the simple, durable fixed landing gear.

It's a fairly rare model, which is one reason it attracts attention from knowledgeable PA-32 buyers.
